How to register with FBR
There are three sorts of taxes that require individuals to register with the FBR. Income Tax, Sales Tax, and Customs Duty are all examples.
In terms of Income Tax, there are two types: Personal Income and Business Income. Individual taxpayers can use the Iris Portal to create an account. Every individual's National Tax Number (NTN) or Registration Number is a 13-digit Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) number.
Every company and AOP receives a unique 7-digit NTN after e-enrolment with the FBR following a visit to the RTO. You can then log into the Iris Portal and file your Income Tax Returns online using your NTN or CNIC number.
Importers, producers, distributors, and retailers are all subject to Sales Tax. To register for sales tax, you must have an active account on the Iris portal. When you register for sales tax with the FBR, you will receive a Sales Tax Registration Number (STRN). This information can subsequently be used to log into the e-file portal and file your Sales Tax Returns.
Customs duty is largely imposed on people who are involved in the import and export of goods into and out of the country. Traders, Customs Agents, Bonded Carriers, Shipping Lines, and Warehouses are all covered. The FBR's Customs site is the Web Based One Customs (WeBOC), but you must first register with the FBR in order to get in. A registration form must be completed as part of the procedure.
